Beni Ourain rugs are cream-colored with black geometric diamond patterns and thick pile — the minimalist classic. Boujaad rugs use warm rose, terracotta, and rust tones with dense abstract patterns. Azilal rugs feature bright colorful symbols on an ivory ground. Mrirt rugs are the premium tier — dense weave, optional silk accents, heirloom-grade. All are handwoven from natural wool in different Berber regions of Morocco.

Yes. Every rug in our collection is 100% natural sheep wool from Atlas Mountain flocks. The warp threads are cotton (standard for authentic Moroccan rugs). We never use polyester, viscose, or synthetic blends.

Yes. All colored rugs in our catalog use traditional plant and mineral dyes — madder root for rose and red, indigo for blue, walnut hull for brown, saffron and pomegranate for yellow, henna for orange, and iron oxide for black. Undyed rugs (like most Beni Ourains) are the natural color of the wool.

Every OwnCrafted rug ships with a heritage card showing the weaver's name, region, and — for most pieces — a photograph. You can also verify authenticity yourself: the pattern will have small asymmetries, the back will show the pattern faintly, the wool will have a mild farmhouse scent from lanolin, and the fringe will be a continuation of the cotton warp threads (not stitched on).

Every rug is made to order. Our artisans handweave your rug in our Oued Zem workshop over 3 to 4 weeks depending on size, then it ships worldwide via free DHL Express (3 to 5 business days delivery). Plan for roughly 4 to 5 weeks total from order to doorstep. We confirm your timeline right after purchase and keep you updated at every step.

Every order ships from our workshop in Oued Zem, Morocco, via DHL Express. We do not ship from warehouses in the US or Europe.

Yes. Return the original rug within 30 days and place a new order for the replacement. If there's a price difference, we adjust accordingly.

For a living room, the front legs of every sofa and chair should rest on the rug. For a bedroom, the rug should extend 60-80 cm beyond the sides and foot of the bed. For a dining room, the rug should extend at least 60 cm beyond every side of the table. When in doubt, size up — undersized rugs make rooms look smaller.

Standard sizes include 100×150 cm, 150×200 cm, 200×300 cm, 250×350 cm, and 300×400 cm. Runner rugs range from 51×102 cm to 122×275 cm.
